About Rocklyn Stud
Vicky and Cameron Ashton started Rocklyn Stud in 2017 after falling in love with Miniature Herefords and wanting to raise and graze them on their land. Located on Parrs Rd in Hurworth, New Plymouth, the Ashton's first bought a lifestyle block in 2012 with a dream of creating their own slice of rural life.
The idea all grew from Vicky's renewed interest in Western Riding and desire to breed American quarter horses. After buying the land fencing began, a large American Barn was erected with a studio inside they could live in, an arena and stables created for the horses, and plans made to build their dream home. Within two years the entire property had ranch-style wooden fencing, they'd moved into their new home, they had cows and suffolk sheep grazing, and their little Bischon dogs and Birman cat were all well settled into the country lifestyle.
Not long after came the Miniature Herefords, who get well looked after as do all the animals at Rocklyn Stud. Neighbouring land was also purchased, and now the lifestyle block is officially a small farm!
